Mazoon Dairy celebrated its 2nd anniversary, which falls on 20th of October of each year. The company’s first products were launched in the Sultanate’s markets on October 19, 2019. Mazoon is distinguished by its Omani identity and the quality of its products, which have achieved widespread acceptance from all segments of society. The number of its outputs currently has reached 160 products of various types, sizes, and flavors, with a production capacity of 400,000 liters per day.
At that time, the company had started marketing fresh milk and yogurts in the governorates of Muscat and North Al Batinah, followed by the rest of the Sultanate’s governorates within the first 100 days of its launch.
Strenuous Efforts
Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Ghafri, Chief Support Officer, expressed his pride on this occasion, praising the strenuous efforts made by employees from various departments of the company from its inception, to the advanced levels it reached in its operations, spread in the markets and its diversification of products.
He added, “Mazoon Dairy has reinforced its position in the Sultanate’s markets by achieving more than 95% coverage. It has also started exporting its products to a number of markets in the neighboring countries, gaining the confidence of the local community in the quality of its products.”
“Athar” Program
In social responsibility sector, the Chief Support Officer confirmed that the company pays great attention to society in all its segments by implementing several social responsibility initiatives in various fields such as education, development, training, and rehabilitation, in addition to empowering a number of Omani entrepreneurs through providing them opportunities for partnerships in the company’s sustainable projects.
Regarding to company’s contribution to ICV, Al Ghafri explained that Mazoon Dairy achieved outstanding rates, as it contributed more than 8.5 million OMR during the past 9 months of this year. He stressed that that “Athar” initiative launched by the company contributed to enhancing this side. The initiative focuses on building skills, developing, and qualifying entrepreneurs, creating eco-friendly solutions, alternative energy, circular economy team, ets. Several agreements have also been signed with entrepreneurs in the manufacture of packaging materials and other industry inputs. Mazoon Dairy strives to develop the local food industries by creating business opportunities for these companies. Since its establishment, the company has sought to rehabilitate and develop local companies by providing technical support to contract with these companies and divert the import of materials from outside the Sultanate to local manufacturers. The most prominent of these materials are packaging materials, rubber floors for cows and other industry inputs. The company succeeded in reducing the number of imports ,through these partnerships, with local manufacturers.
Omanization
Jamal bin Yousef Al-Rahbi, Human Resources Director at Mazoon Dairy, said that the company give great attention to localize jobs in the various sectors within the company. It is working to train Omani youth through “Quodrat” program associated with employment to employ them in its various sectors. He stressed that “Mazoon Dairy” is one of the few Omani companies that adopt a strategy of training associated with employment through “Quodrat” program. The company continues the policy of giving priority in employment to national cadres by rehabilitating them and enhancing their skills in various fields.
He added that the company had achieved a rate of 70%, and the total number of employees reached 1,200. In addition, the number of trainees in the “Quodrat” program through its first and second batches, numbered 232 Omani youngsters. However, the program has 80 trainees in its current edition. The company works to hire a number of 106 Omani youth by the end of the year.
Al-Rahbi Pointed out that the company is working within a well-studied plan regarding the Omanisation in all the various departments of the company during the coming years. “Training and qualification the national cadre is a top national priority” he asserted.
