Oman is a country of diverse geography and climates. In every part of the Sultanate, Omanis through hard work and determination have maintained a lifestyle of self-sufficiency. It is a legacy that began with our ancestors who developed tools to overcome the limitations of the environment. The development of Alfalaj systems proved Omanis could grow prosperous settlements out of once hostile environments.
As part of the ambition for greater self-sufficiency, greater economic development, the Sultanate is entering a new era of investment in agricultural and food projects through its Investment arm, the Oman Food Investments Holding Company.
Mazoon Dairy is the latest project of its kind in Oman. Currently only 30% of dairy products come from the Sultanate. By 2028 Mazoon Dairy will increase this to 86%. In addition Mazoon Dairy will help meet the health and nutrition strategies of the Sultanate. Encouraging people of all ages, especially school children to eat healthfully and maintain active lives. Mazoon Dairy will champion environmental sustainability, livestock welfare, and workplace safety as future leader in its industry
The project is one of the largest in the Sultanate with a capital of RO 100 million. 20% of this capital comes form Oman Food Investments Holding company, the remainder from other investment funds.
Mazoon Dairy will help to nourish a new generation of talent and leadership in the Sultanate. 2300 jobs will be created within 10 years.
Through knowledge transfer with best-in-class partners from the region and around the world we will be able to create new and innovative prospects for business, there will also be many opportunities for small and medium enterprises to provide services during construction phase and once operations commence. The project will commence its dairy operation from Al-Sinayna, Al Buraimi governorate, thereby making them a food hub to the sultanate.
